Red Bull Crashed Ice in Marseille. Back on Track !
2018. 02. 12.
Ice cross on the Cote D’Azur…
For this 16th season of Red Bull Crashed Ice, and the penultimate stage before the final in Canada, the skaters of the extreme will be stopping once again in Marseille. Take short track, mix it with ski cross, add a lot of pinging, ponging and insane spills. You get crashed ice. It is, with no doubt the most spectacular and adrenaline-fuelled winter sport one can imagine.
Pressure is building up for the 120 riders, male and female, who will be lining up in front of the Intercontinental hotel to catapult themselves on the ice track with the objective of sweeping off the 2018 Ice Cross Downhill champion title and putting an end to the domination of Cameron Naasz and Jacqueline Legere who won the last two editions. They will skate hard and fast – up to 80 km/h, faster than a running tiger! - on a 340 meter-long and 4 to 8 meter-wide artificial ice track, including 20 meters of vertical drops at 50/60°.
Ice gladiator with a #driver enough spirit
Outstanding physical skills including stamina, cardio, strength, power, speed, coordination, and balance. Strong mental capacities, concentration and motivation. Confidence and passion. These are all the skills required for the skaters to be on top of their game at the Crashed Ice and fight for their place from the ice to the podium. Exactly the same gamut of skills required for pilots and definitely the type of mindset BFGoodrich® goes for.
